No need for a car here since public transportation is only two blocks away. Casa de los Amigos is in the La Gloria neighborhood. The bus runs from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the cost of three pesos per person. Taxis to downtown are also available at a flat fare for your party as long as you get in and out at the same place. The fare is nine pesos during the day and 14 pesos after midnight. Downtown and one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean are a short taxi or bus ride away. North Beach, with its tranquil crystalline blue water and white sands, will draw you back often. Once downtown, North Beach, many fine restaurants, a variety of colorful shops and an active nightlife are all within easy walking distance. Ferry service to the island is offered from Gran Puerto Cancun and Puerto Juarez located 15 minutes north of Cancun. A car ferry is also available from Punta Sam, another five miles up the coast.
